Free! Eternal Summer (Season Two)
Review By: John Fragglepuss Evans and Breanne Evans
Genre: Comedy, School, Sports, Slice of Life, Swimming
First Aired: Summer 2014, 13 episodes. (This is season two of Free!)
Summary: The third year is beginning for the Iwatobi Swim Club. It is the last year for Haruka, Makoto and Rin. They are still swimming strong, but they need to start planning for their futures. New and old friends are all around and rivalries are in full force. Haruka has to decide what he is going to do after graduation because the pressure is constantly building for him and the swim team. Rin still has a fire in his belly to compete at the highest level and is still frustrated with Haruka’s lack of motivation.
The second season of Free! is just as heartfelt and enjoyable as the first season. There are many similarities between the two seasons, but there is continuing character development that shows growth and maturity in these high school swimmers. There is the classic cast of characters, while new additions are made as well. Season two of Free! is not your typical sports anime because it is not focused on the swim meets, it is focused on the swimmers and their plans for the future. There are not swim races that last for three or more episodes while the crowd explains the rules of swimming and the importance of the race.
You might enjoy this if: You enjoyed season one of Free and want to see how the lives of our boys have been going in high school.
You might not like it if: You have an intense fear of water.
Note to the Viewer: Do not worry, there are still plenty of muscly swimmers in season two.

(Warning, the AMV contains a lot of swimming)
