One Week Friends / Isshuukan Friends
Review By: John Fragglepuss Evans and Breanne Evans
Genre: Comedy, School, Slice of Life, Memory Lapse
First aired: Spring 2014, 12 episodes
Summary: Yuuki Hase and Kaori Fujimiya are in class together. Yuuki is fascinated with Kaori because she appears so lonely and sad. When Yuuki finally gets the courage to ask is she would like to be his friend, he is turned down. He remains persistent and gets her to smile and talk to him. They have a great week together, and on Friday she explains to him that every Monday all of her happy memories and memories of new friends disappear. Deciding that he wants to be friends with her anyway, Yuuki tries to get close to Kaori each week, hoping that she would one day call him a friend.
One Week Friends keeps the viewer interested throughout the entire series by making you want to know how things will end up for the Kaori and Yuuki. There is also the mystery of why Kaori loses her memories every Monday. This is a series that will leave you wanting to watch “Just one more episode”.
You might enjoy this if: You enjoyed the film “50 First Dates.”
You might not like it if: Action/Adventure is what you seek.
Note to the Viewer: Do not allow yourself to get too frustrated with Kaori’s memory lapse. She is trying her best!
