The following is a list of the anime we reviewed for our panel on The Latest and Greatest in Anime at Salt Lake Comic Con FanX 2015. In the panel we reviewed new anime that started airing in the past year. There are a significant number of new anime, 50+ each season, so it is not possible to review everything that has started airing. We appreciate everybody that came to our panel. We were excited and appreciative to be moved to a larger panel room, one fitting over 500 people, and we were able to fill the room to capacity. Here is a short summary of each anime so that you can read through and get some ideas on new anime to watch.

Amagi Brilliant Park

Seiya Kanie agrees to help revitalize a failing amusement park to save it from going out of business.

Parasyte

Izumi Shinishi is a normal high-school boy until he is infected by a mysterious parasite. This is when the whole world takes a turn for the dark and twisted.

Himegoto

A seemingly normal high-school boy decides to cross-dress for the rest of his high-school career to pay off his parent’s massive debt.

Selector Infected WIXOSS

Ruko Kominato starts playing WIXOSS to gain friends but quickly finds out that there is a lot more to this card game than meets the eye.

Death Parade

After a simultaneous death, humans go to a sort of death limbo, where they must play a game to reach the real afterlife.

Terra Formars

Giant mutant cockroaches are coming to destroy Earth…Unless Earth goes to Mars and gets them first!

Sanzoku no Musume Ronya

A computer-animated anime by Studio Ghibli. Ronya is the daughter of a bandit chief in a magical, medieval world.

Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bover-Bu Love

Magical boys! Five ordinary boys gain powers from a space alien wombat to become “The Earth’s Defense Club”. They must stop the “Earth Conquering Club” with their LOVE powers.

Your Lie in April

This anime follows the piano prodigy Kousei Arima, who quit playing piano under unfortunate circumstances until he meets Kaori, a pretty, free-spirited violinist.

Absolute Duo

Toru enrolls in a school where students use their souls as weapons. His power is unique in that it is a shield instead of a weapon. After meeting his duo partner Julie, the two begin a quest of revenge for their families.

Baby Steps

An honor student realizes he needs exercise and stumbles upon Tennis. He takes a different approach to the sport and rises quickly.

Orenchi no Furo Jijo

This is a short-form anime where Tatsumi finds himself living with a merman in his bathtub.

Dramatical Murder

After being forcefully dragged into the popular cyber game Rhyme, all semblance of a peaceful life for Aoba Seragaki ends.

Trinity Seven

Kasuga lived a normal life with his childhood friend, Hijiri. Everything changes when a magus appears to him, his home is destroyed, and he meets The Trinity Seven.

Shirobako

A group of five friends, after their involvement in the high school animation club, join the anime industry and experience all the troubles, hardships, and success the industry has to offer.

Lord Marksman and Vanadis

Tigre, a young archer, experiences the power of a war maiden firsthand after being defeated on the battlefield. The victor chooses to spare his life, but in exchange, he must serve her.

Soul Eater Not

Tsugumi is a demon weapon in the “Not” class. She befriends two miesters and cannot decide which to choose as a partner. Follow their daily lives as they learn the ropes of the DWMA.

Akatsuki no Yona

Princess Yona lives a charmed life until her father is murdered by her cousin and she must flee her kingdom with her bodyguard, Hak.

World Conquest – Zvedza Plot

Asuta, a young runaway, finds himself part of a plan for world conquest after he helps a young girl who fell off her tricycle. It turns out she is the leader of a rebel group named Zvedza.

When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace

Senko High School Literature Club’s five members have all somehow developed superpowers. It has become a part of their everyday lives as they battle against others wielding similar powers.

Gugure! Kokkuri-San

A young girl, who lives alone and claims to be a doll, summons the fox spirit Kokkuri-san and the spirit decides to care for her. She is then haunted by various unique spirits.

Denkigai no Honya-San

Follow the daily workings of a manga shop run by a group of manga fanatics. Each employee has something to add to the mix.

Assassination Classroom

Middle school class 3-E has a new teacher, a tentacled, smiley-faced creature that blew a hole in the moon. The class’s assignment, to assassinate the teacher before graduation.
