Highschool of the Dead
Review By: John Fragglepuss Evans
Genre: Action, Ecchi, Horror, Supernatural, Harem, Zombies
First aired: Summer 2010, 12 episodes
Summary: A worldwide lethal disease is on the loose, risking the complete annihilation of humanity. The disease turns its victims into the living dead with an insatiable hunger for flesh.
In Japan, several high school students and a school nurse have banded together out of necessity to escape Fujimi High School shortly after it was attacked by zombies. The group is attempting to figure out the reason for this plague while at the same time, working to survive the zombie apocalypse.
Highschool of the Dead is a journey into the world of the zombie apocalypse. It is an entertaining anime to watch because it combines a lot of different genres. For example, there are zombie battles that combine violent action with horror, but then bits of comedy and fan service will be thrown in mid-battle. At least I find it humorous when they throw in fan service mid-battle. This anime was a fun watch all the way through. It is a shame that Japan is not into zombies as much as America, otherwise we may have had a second season.
You might enjoy this if: Zombies are your thing.
You might not like it if: Fan service is not your thing.
Note to the Viewer: There is no shortage of creativity for zombie killings in Highschool of the Dead.
