Haikyuu!!
Review By: John Fragglepuss Evans and Breanne Evans
Genre: Sports, Comedy, Drama, School, Volleyball
First aired: Spring 2014, 25 episodes
Summary: Shouyou Hinata loves everything about volleyball. Unfortunately, volleyball does not love him. His club has no members, but somehow made it into a single match of middle school regular play, where the team was crushed by Tobio Kageyama, a superstar player known as the “King of the Court”. Hinata did not give up and applied to the Karasuno High School volleyball club. However, Kageyama also happened to join the same underestimated club!
Haikyuu follows these two through their trials and tribulations in the volleyball world of high school. Their strengths are completely different, but they complement each other very well. The problem is that they refuse to work together and also refuse to acknowledge each other’s strengths. Even if you are not familiar with volleyball, do not fret, in true sport’s anime fashion, the fans explain everything step-by-step so that you can appreciate the game in its entirety.
You might enjoy this if: You enjoy heartwarming stories of overcoming adversary. Also, if you enjoy to laugh.
You might not like it if: You have an Ex that loved volleyball and as a result you absolutely despise it.
Note to the Viewer: After watching Haikyuu you will finally realize why there are so many volleyball cosplayers at the geek conventions!
