Date A Live / Deto A Raibu

Review By: John Fragglepuss Evans

First Aired: 1st season, Spring 2013, 12 episodes. 2nd season, Spring 2014, 10 episodes.

Genre: Romance, Sci-fi, Supernatural, Harem, Spirits

Summary: Spirits are the cause of spacequakes, which are like earthquakes, but from space. These spacequakes cause massive damage. Shido Itsuka is a seemingly normal boy that comes across a Spirit named Tohka and learns that he can house Spirit energy, which makes Tohka not cause spacequakes. How does Shido house the Spirit energy you ask? Well, by taking the Spirit on a date of course! Long story short, a lot of Spirits end up showing up, and they all have an unhealthy obsession with Itsuka. Yes, I know what this sounds like, and yes it is what it sounds like, a Harem. This anime seemed silly at first, but actually ended up having a better story than expected.

You might enjoy this if: You are on the lookout for a harem that has a decent story to it. The second season just wrapped up, so there’s plenty to watch!

You might not like it if: You are looking for an anime that is not a harem. This show knows what it is, and it will bring out the harem early on.

Note to the Viewer: The first episode is somewhat misleading. Watch a few episodes and then feel free to judge.
