Sakura Trick
Review By: John Fragglepuss Evans
Genre: Comedy, Romance, School, Slice of Life, Special Friendship
First aired: Winter 2014, 12 episodes
Summary: The story revolves around Haruka and Yuu, two girls that are bout to start high school. The school year begins and they start to drift apart. Fearing they will continue to drift apart, they decide to share a special moment between them. They share a kiss and their relationship deepens from that moment onward.
Sakura Trick is part of an anime genre that I have not really watched. It is focused on the slice of life and romance aspect of the anime. Even though I have not watched much of this style of anime, it was not bad. There is a decent story to it, revolving around the two main characters, Haruka and Yuu. These two girls share a special friendship that develops as the season progresses.
The story is fairly simple, but the idea is enough to maintain interest throughout the short series. A variety of characters assist with the story. Both friends and family are introduced, each adding to the series in their own unique way. The story revolves around Haruka and Yuu, but side stories are introduced that add to show in a good way.
You might enjoy this if: You are looking for a story of high school friendship and you are not afraid of seeing two girls become slightly “more than friends”.
You might not like it if: The summary does not spark your interest.
Note to the Viewer: Sakura Trick is not a full-on sexual romp. It is a good story of friendship.
