No Game No Life
Review By: John Fragglepuss Evans
Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Ecchi, Fantasy, Supernatural, Gaming
First aired: Spring 2014, 12 episodes
Summary: The story of No Game, No Life centers around Sora and Shiro, brother and sister gamers that have become legends all over the Internet. These two gamers consider the real world as just another crappy game. One day, they are summoned by a boy that calls himself “God” to an alternate world. God has prohibited war in this world and declared it to be a world where everything is decided by games, even national borders. Humanity has been driven back into one remaining city by the other races.
As you can probably tell by the summary, Sora and Shiro are the perfect set for this alternate world. The siblings are perfect at games as a couple because they possess different strengths. Sora, the brother, can read any situation in the perfect way. For example, he can tell if someone is bluffing in Poker. Shiro, the sister, is a wiz with numbers and statistics. She can calculate the odds of winning, the statistical probability of having a better hand of Poker, etc.
No Game No Life is a fun watch because they types of games played are a wide variety. There are board games played, poker, Rock, Paper, Scissors, Chess, MMORPGS, you name it. There is also a developing story about this alternate world that they have become a part of.
You might enjoy this if: You enjoy games of any type.
You might not like it if: You are in the mood for something more down to earth and not fantasy-based.
Note to the Viewer: Just wait until “the final game”.
