Witch Craft Works / Witchikurafuto Wakusu
Review By: John Fragglepuss Evans
Genre: Action, Fantasy, Comedy, Supernatural, Witches
First Aired: Winter 2014, 12 episodes
Summary: Takamiya is a regular student whose only problem seems to be that he sits next to Kagari Ayaka, the school’s most popular girl. They have never spoken to each other before and any interaction between them results in death threats and pummeling from her fanclub. One day a part of the school’s building falls out of the sky and is about to crush Takamiya, but Kagari saves him. Turns out she’s a witch, carrying Takamiya in her arms while floating on a broom. Kagari tells him it is her mission to protect him and that now she can finally protect him openly rather than from the shadows. All sorts of craziness ensues, including them moving in together and having magical battles with other witches constantly.
You might enjoy this if: You like to watch an anime with a mixture of action and comedy. There are great hats, funny parts to the show, and a decent story. I should also mention that it has a very catchy ending song.
You might not like it if: You are looking for a story with a lot of character development and consistency throughout the entire season.
Note to the Viewer: It’s not overly sexual and not as much of a harem as the first episode might suggest.
